How the FBA Fee Calculator works
FBA fulfillment fees depend on the product's size tier (small standard, large standard, large bulky, extra-large) and its billable weight. For most tiers Amazon uses the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (L × W × H ÷ 139).
Small changes in packaging can move a product to a cheaper tier. This calculator shows the tier, both weights and the resulting fee so you can see what to optimize.
Formula
- Dimensional weight (lb) = Length × Width × Height ÷ 139
- Billable weight = max(Unit weight, Dimensional weight) + packaging allowance
- FBA fee = band rate for size tier and billable weight (+ per-lb surcharge for heavy tiers)
- Monthly storage = Cubic feet × rate (off-peak or Q4)

A 0.6 lb, 9×6×2 in item is large standard and costs about $4 to fulfill.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my FBA fee higher than expected?
Usually dimensional weight: a light but boxy product is billed on volume. Check the dimensional weight output.
Are apparel and dangerous goods included?
Not in the default table. Admins can add separate size-tier schedules for those programs.
