How the Reorder Quantity Calculator works
The order must cover the days until it arrives plus the days you want it to last, minus what you already have or have coming.
Formula
- Order qty = Daily sales × (Cover days + Lead time) + Safety stock − On hand − On order
Example
Order 300 units (about $1,800).
Units in stock: 300Average daily sales: 5Supplier production (days): 30Shipping + receiving (days): 20Safety days: 10Days the order should cover: 60Unit cost (optional): 6
Frequently asked questions
What cover days should I use?
60–90 for stable products; longer only when the MOQ forces it or freight savings justify it.
